Worship and Music
Cynthia Davidson Writes
As most of you know, our wonderful Music Director, Heath Hatfield, has resigned. We will try our best to have music every Sunday. However, there could be Sundays that we do not have music. If that should occur, we will supplement with hymns that are familiar to all. Lisa Cairns and Sarah Schulz will be assisting us. However, neither of them are able to take on full time responsibility for music. If you know of anyone that may be interested, please, notify Betty with the information.
There will be only one Service for Christmas this year. That Service will be on Christmas Eve at 10:00 PM. If anyone needs a ride to and from the Service, please, notify the Betty. We have several of our members willing to provide rides.
There will be three (3) midweek Advent Services in December on Wednesday, the 5th, 12th and 19th. The Service is at 7:00 and will be preceded by a Soup and Sandwich Supper at 6:00 PM.

“Sharing God’s Love and His Promise for Tomorrow”
Church Council Meeting:
Wednesday November 14, 2018 6:30pm (Due to Thanksgiving)
As this year is rapidly coming to an end, I’d like to offer my thanks and congratulations to my fellow Council members for their service this year. Their willingness to serve is only surpassed by their love for our congregation. After completing the Stewardship program, a roadmap was laid out for all of us to follow. Not our way, but His! Think about. God has given us the instructions. We shouldn’t try to assemble it ourselves without looking at them? Trust me. As a father of 4 I’ve spent many a Christmas morning assembling toys. It’s much easier when you follow the instructions. I will be term limited out at the end of this calendar year, but I will not sit on the sidelines waiting for someone else to step up and do… I will be volunteering to be the Property Committee Chairman and as such will do my very best to maintain and make improvements to our facility as necessary. Can’t wait.
Cindy Shares her great organization skills:
The Holiday Season is a time of giving. An insert in the Bulletin outlines the various Charities that the Council has voted on to support. If you would like to donate, please, use one of the Red lined envelops, if your have them. Indicate on your check or envelop that the donation is for the Holiday Giving. If you prefer to support just one of the items, indicate which one.
The Holiday Giving items are:

- Items for JoEllen Smith Living Center
- Coats for Children at Boudreaux Elementary

2018 Advent Services
As we enter the season of Advent, I want to take a look at look at the joy of Christmas. Joy is a word we hear tossed around a lot this time of year, and with good reason. We think of time spent with family, gift giving, decorating, and just a general sense of happiness. However, we must remember the true reason we have joy to begin with. Joy isn’t some simple emotion like happiness, it is a sense of being. It is a state we live in. At all times and in all places, we know that we have true joy in our hearts because Jesus Christ came to Earth to live among us and to free us from our sins and to restore God’s creation. This Advent season, we will take a deeper look at what J.O.Y. really means in the life of the church and the individual Christian as we examine the depth of the gift that God freely gave to us in the child born in a manger. Please join us on December 5, 12, and 19 for services at 7 pm with a soup and sandwich meal before at 6 pm. We look forward to seeing you there!
